    The following percentage calculator will make it easy to solve some common percentage word problems. Read your problem carefully and just enter the problem into the most appropriate situation.



    • The first calculator or the one on top helps you the get the percentage of a number. For example, 4% of 200 is 8. Percentage: is in “x% of a number is“
    • The second calculator or the one in the middle help you to get the rate. In the example right above about 4% of 200 is 8, 4% is the rate. If you did not know the rate, then you will enter 8 is what percent of 200 to get the rate. Rate: x% in “x% of a number is”
    • The third calculator or the last one helps you to get the base, or the amount you are taking the percent of. In the example right above about 4% of 200 is 8, 200 is the base. If you did not know the base, then you will enter 8 is 4% of what. This means the same as 4% of what number is 8? Base: a number in “x% of a number is”
